Databanken sells equipment on eBay that is not useful for low-income or community groups. These items may be bulky, faulty, vintage, enterprise equipment, one of a kind, or end-of-life equipment. Laptops listed have issues or have marks and scratches. Excess stock is also sold.
Databanken is an independent not-for-profit organisation based in Melbourne. We started computer refurbishment in 1998. Our low-cost computers are refurbished by skilled volunteers for Australian Concession Card holders and other eligible customers.
We install Linux on all computers, ensuring they come with a selection of free software suitable for home, educational, and small business use. We offer computers at minimal cost while promoting sustainable e-waste reduction.
Our goal is to provide affordable computing solutions while reducing electronic waste. By refurbishing donated computers, we extend their usability and keep technology accessible.
